Abstract
When trying to define the general characteristics of the profile of the adults educators we run up against the heterogeneity and the diversity existing in this field, not only when it comes to the enormous difference regarding terms, but also as far as the material consecuences within the different specializations or 'professions' included in the so called adult education are concerned. We don¿t believe however that establishing a definition in the matter of which skills and what expertise and knowledge should form the basic education to be the correct approach, and therefore, we focus on a description of the attitudes of the adults educator since this are predetermining when it comes to the ways in which education is conceived. Our final aim is to try to give a pedagogic sense around the main objectives which adult education strives to achieve.
