Abstract
Assessment of university students' skills calls for the design and implementation of specific tools that are tailored to the new evaluation needs in the student-focused teaching-learning process. In this context, the aim of this project was to find out students' perception of how useful the evaluation rubrics were and the extent to which they facilitated their learning. A sample (N=33) of university students were given a questionnaire to assess a competency evaluation model. The results reveal that for the rubrics proposed, all of the average assessments obtained regarding the degree of satisfaction with their use were higher than the theoretical mean of the response scale. 69.7% also prefer the rubrics to the traditional assessment tools used. Therefore, we may conclude that for the population under study, the rubric is a useful tool that facilitates learning, and more suitable than traditional evaluation systems.
