Abstract

The arrival of the European Higher Education Area has entailed a methodological renewal proposal, mainly at the didactic level. This is encouraging many university teachers to try to develop innovative experiences in many fields and branches of knowledge. In this sense, Information and Communication Technologies are a common element in many of these experiences. This chapter shows the process of incorporation of the Flipped Classroom methodology, together with the use of video tutorials, into the teaching of data analysis subjects in Social Sciences. This innovative experience is presented to the collective of university teachers aiming to make a valuable contribution in this area by showing how the audiovisual resources have been integrated within the framework of the Flipped Classroom methodologies, which are also called inverted classroom. The results show that the students’ satisfaction with the experience is very high, both regarding the implemented methodology and the integration and utility of the video tutorials. The chapter ends with a critical analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of Flipped Classroom methodologies with video tutorials as a valuable resource to facilitate students’ learning of contents with a high level of abstraction like the one at hand: descriptive and inferential data analysis in Education Sciences and the appropriate interpretation of the results obtained.
