Abstract
This contribution aims at analyzing the translator’s visibility in bibliographic catalogues for being a traditional example of knowledge organisation resources. Starting from a close interaction between Translation Studies and Information Sciences, the corpus consists of all books translated from German into Spanish between 1970 and 2010. After a thorough evaluation of the sources of information available, an active search was conducted based on the catalogue of the Spanish National Library. This search resulted in a complete bibliographic corpus of translations which allows to identify specific practices as far as the consideration of the translator as a literary agent and his/her visibility in one of the most important bibliographic catalogues within the Spanish speaking world are concerned.
