Resumo

10 years of archaeological research in Zarautz (Gipuzkoa) and its immediate surroundings have led to a radical change in the traditional historiography premises that affect virtually all historic periods. Around ten new sites that have broadened the chronological frame of human presence in the area from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages have been added to the historical landscape, between 1992 and 2003, thanks to the existence of three teams of archaeologists. This activity, and mainly the excavation carried out between 1997 and 2002 in Santa María la Real of Zarautz, has allowed the creation of a diffusion project centred on the emergence of an in place museum on this particular site. The museum project is based on two fundamental variables, the acceptance of the concept of museum territory and the adoption of the museum¿s role as a cultural dynamic means of expression, with a specific emphasis on the educational aspect. Taking these premises as a start point, the introduction of the NTIC (New Technologies for Information and Communication) in the museum takes place, brought by the creation of digital proposals oriented pedagogically in two directions: a support tool for the already existing programmes of non-formal education through the traditional channel of the Web and more advanced proposals, that based on technologies derived from e-learning and making use of the museum territory structure, advance towards the development of informal learning models on the grounds of a vital experience of territory immersion.
