Abstract

This article gather different contributions, mainly from Marie-Laure Ryan, about hypertext and virtual reality. One of her ideas is that some different traditions from the western art, in fields as the painting and literature already formulated many of the questions provoked by the new interactive technologies. In that sense, painter Diego Velázquez is a fundamental creator to understand the concept of representation of the reality. He was an important influence to understand concepts linked to postmodernist like virtual immersion and differences between weak interactivity and strong interactivity. The rol of the new mediating instruments is analyzed from a sociocultural perspective.
