Resumo

The subject “Scientific Workshops” in the fourth year of the Early Childhood Education Degree at the Faculty of Education Sciences in San Sebastian has been geared towards the organization of workshops with children. Since the 2013-14 course about 300 children and their tutors participate in an average of between 16 and 24 workshops per year. This initiative is not only a practical approach to early childhood science, but wants to become a research-action activity. Thus, the reflection on practice and a high self-evaluation component makes our students win in aspects such as autonomy, self-efficacy and a critical thinking ability in the practice. In addition, year after year is consolidating and improving the relationship with schools, particularly through the increasingly active involvement of tutors.
