Resumen
This aríicle deals zoith various topics and problents associated with the use of Information and communicütion technologies (ICT) in higher learning: measuring and modcling ofteaching contexis', the extent of difficulties to innóvate an imtitution by inlroducing tools that may contradict an organizational and symbolic structure Consolidated throughout centuries; the conseauences of exporting or importing computer applications as well as the need to undertake developments that are balancea pedagogically and technologkaüy; approaching the concept of "open" education and "distance" education, pushed by the development of ICT's and the various ways to understand and plan the teaching it implies, and the consideration f new types of higher learning establishments.
