Abstract
The main idea of this work is that much learning takes place without explicit instruction, thus being invisible to formal education. However, these learning processes are the result of the learner's active exploration of learning through practices and social interaction in a users' community where "soft" skills are acquired to effectively operate at work or in daily life. Education system does not seem to be prepared to recognize, evaluate or validate the acquisition of these social skills, which are considered today as an invisible, ubiquitous, informal or lifelong learning, and these new concepts and theories construct a new way to understand education. Today's almost unlimited communication possibilities open a whole universe of new ways of learning that should be recognized in the curricula. This paper makes a literature review about the issue and create a meta-theory that will be the framework for future research linked to this theoretical work.
