Abstract

Currently, we are facing a new socioeconomic context that is affecting any human activityfield, including education. In fact, we are at the beginning of what technology engineers andbusinesspeople call the 4.0. revolution (Big Data, the internet of things, artificialintelligence). Due to this situation, the following research questions emerge: How areCatalan public universities training primary school teachers to face educational challengesin the digital society? Do undergraduate students feel prepared to face these educationalchallenges related to the digital society? Having said that, the methodology is based onmultiple case studies using different data collection strategies (analysis of documentarysources, focus group, semi-structured interviews, non participant observation) to listen tothe testimonies of the different protagonists in the initial training of primary school teachers(students, graduates and curriculum coordinators).
