Abstract

Access to the practice of physical activity sometimes becomes unfeasible for certain social groups. Normally, those with a lower cultural and economic level are those with the greatest problems. This article analyzes the IPAFD program (Institutes for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sport), an initiative of the General Directorate of Sports of the Community of Madrid, which can act as a facilitator for the elimination of some of the barriers to the practice of physical activity among the population with low resources. From a reflective and critical point of view, variables such as social justice, scarcity of economic resources, inclusion, emancipation and the promotion of physical activity are analyzed. It is essential for the public administration to promote initiatives of this type in order to guarantee accessibility to the practice of physical activity and sports for those who need it most, providing viable proposals that promote true inclusion.
