Resum

This doctoral thesis aims to verify the evolution of productive oral speaking competence and thus the existence of a possible improvement of this foreign language competence in primary teaching students of the English Mention. In order to carry out this study, the data collection is carried out at the beginning and at the end of the mention, in order to be able to contrast the collected data. The student body belongs to three institutions: the University of Granada, the University of Malaga and the Immaculate Teaching Center of Antequera attached to the University of Malaga. Data collection is done through various instruments. In the one hand, through the Cambridge English Language Assessment First Certificate level exam, corresponding to level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages. The test is carried out by a Cambridge Language Assessment examiner and with real published material for a good achievement of the level exam. On the other hand, and in order to get to know the students better, three questionnaires are carried out that deal with personal data and linguistic level, about their feelings and emotions, more specifically anxiety about productive oral speaking skills and, finally, about strategies used by them before this skill. A study is also carried out on the study plans of the two universities to find out if they have also been able to influence the improvement of speaking in the students. The data reveal changes between the two moments of their collection at the beginning of the mention and at the end of it, as shown in the findings and discussion section. Through statistical and descriptive analysis it allows us to better understand the result of the data and at the same time, to be able to answer the research questions, as well as the main objective described above. The conclusions chapter summarizes the results and different questions that have been part of the investigation, such as the elaboration process and difficulties, among others.
