Abstract

Feminist-theatrical pedagogies, dialogic-participatory educational methodologies and the educational field of Vocational Training (VET) in the search for gender equality make up this research in which we present a case study on the process of creation and rehearsal of a theatrical performance created by VET students for the promotion of gender equality. The aim of this research was to investigate the processes of theatrical creation and dramatisation and their effects in terms of students’ creative learning, involvement in formal pedagogical processes and the shaping of more egalitarian and gender-focused professional identities in the field of socio-community intervention. For this, we conducted a qualitative ethnographic study with a case study approach, using techniques such as non-participant observation, audio-visual recordings and interviews. The main findings show that the implementation of theatrical performance enriches the professional training of future promoters of gender equality; it transforms the classroom into a creative laboratory and the students into the protagonists of their own learning; dramatic creation fosters dialogical and horizontal forms in the classroom with which the tacit knowledge that VET students have about gender and the micro-chauvinism exercised on women in contexts of youth and adolescent socialisation are interpreted and integrated pedagogically.
