Resumen

This paper has been written from a precautionary stance in view of the media impact and the social reactive agitation around gender and school-based violence.This is because gender and gender-related violence go beyond the persons who exercise violence and those who suffer its effects. Social alarms simplify and reduce reality, hush up and some times naturalise other agents in the conspiracy of violence. Based on analyses of the available literature and the evidence collected in a research project about the learning experiences of a group of youngsters regarding their masculinities, the main aim of this paper is to explore other ways of thinking, of positioning oneself and in taking an active role with respect to the relation between gender and the different forms of violence.
