Abstract
Changes in the knowledge construction in Western societies have consolidated E-learning in the �information society� in the context of higher education. This paper makes a reflective analysis of its implementation forms regarding the construction of citizenship in the modern pluralism context and ruptures between developed societies and peripheral ones. Moreover, the evolution of this educational modality is analyzed in the framework of the latest challenges higher education is faced with.
