Resumen

The Lifebook is an educational innovation based on the principles of personalization of school learning. It consists of a personal multimedia learning journal that teachers use in an institute of Catalonia in order to promote among their students the reflection on themselves as learners, on their learning experiences and on their own learning processes. The objective of this research was to explore this educational innovation from the point of view of its design and its implementation. For this, we have interviewed 22 teachers and 214 students who have used the Lifebook. We analyze their perceptions of the strengths and aspects of improvement of this tool. The results indicate that teachers use the Lifebook as a means to identify their students’ learning experiences, but they hardly recognize it as an instrument that favors reflection.
