Abstract

This article reports on the experience of a master's student during a seminar on Arts-Based Research (ABR). This is presented through four postcards-collages that dialogue with four situated reflections, where the different encounters carried out in the framework of the seminar are presented as an exercise of embodiment and materialisation of what it means to carry out an ABR. She accounts for her entanglements, conversations (internal and external), and links with life, based on an ontology connected to epistemology, methodology and ethics. Through these relationships, learning and reflections are rescued, creating a displacement in the speaking subject to take it to a rhizome of multiplicities, layers, voices, spaces, times and subjects. The situations proposed by the teacher and two guest researchers are intertwined and reconfigured according to the circumstances, actions and initiatives of the group of participants. Thus, the ABR seminar acts as a trigger that allows reflection on different dimensions such as artistic practices, enquiry based on the arts, and education linked to the background, experiences and ways of being, saying, feeling and becoming of the student from a subjectivity-in-relation with the group, as well as reconfiguring their ways of learning. Finally, the importance of arts-based research as an enabler of other modes of research is highlighted.
