Como denominar aos nosos maiores?

Resumen

Do all the terms referred to old people have the same significance, connotations, essence and uses? Have all the words used in this context have the same popularity? What are the reasons that justify each choice, what are the reasons hidden in each selection? If the media is, some way, a mirror in which old people are reflected, what is the reflection wished by our seniors? How do they want to be treated? In this text, we look for a simple and synthetic reflection on some of the connotations of a few terms used to name the elderly. On the basis of the works of some different authorities, we want to provoke a discussion on a broad and plural subject, with the wish of transmitting a few points of a bigger debate on this complex and stimulating matter, that will surely be object of further analysis.
